Amarillo Area Court
Appointed Special Advocates (AACASA) advocates for children of abuse or neglect through
the efforts of trained volunteers who are appointed by the court. The goal is to ensure the children a safe,
permanent environment. This past year we have helped approximately 445 children right here in the Texas Panhandle gain this security.
a local CASA advocate’s words, “…the most
thrilling part of this journey has been watching three wonderful children grow
and thrive and stop being afraid to go to sleep. Every time I see them, they smile and laugh
and ask when I will be back. After
working with these children for nearly ten months, this sweet nearly seven year
old boy said, “I love you Tammy” and made every single minute worthwhile. I was looking for a way to help children and
they ended up helping me.”
CASA solution to injustice to children begins with a single volunteer. This volunteer is a court appointed special
advocate, a “CASA volunteer.” Each person
is trained to know what is in a child’s best interest and how to best get those
interests met by the system. In other
words, CASA volunteers serve as the voices for many children whom are often not
heard. This solution cannot begin
without the financial support of individuals such as yourself.
as a member of our community, may not see the eyes of hurt following the rescue
or the precious smile when a child begins to ‘trust’ again. You may not attend court as the judge makes
life-changing decisions based upon facts gathered by a CASA and other
parties. However, you as a member of our
community, become the major life-line as a child’s tears of abuse change to
tears of joy because of funding in support of volunteers who make certain

respect that your donation dollars can be limited, yet it takes so little to fulfill the wishes of an abused child. When asked what he wanted for his birthday, one CASA kid simply said, "A real birthday card." A teen's only request was for basic hygiene items: deodorant and body wash. The humble things we take for granted genuinely make a difference to those who have so little. We are grateful for contributions of any amount, and our hope is that your support is given in confidence that CASA will always act in the best interest of our children.
you so much for your consideration of a tax deductible gift to the abused and
neglected children CASA serves.
